Well I don't know about the rest of the Haligonians out there, but I for one really wanted Sunday shopping and I think that there should be another plebisite as the last one was not done legally what with there not being enough ballots out there for even the advance polls. It is clear that most Haligonians wanted it as well. I don't think that the rest of the province should delegate to stay open or not on Sundays. Just my opinion.

Personally I am glad that the vote went towards no. I worked retail for a VERY long time and I hated it. I understand a lot of people wanted it, and if the vote HAD to be yes, I would have wanted it that EVERY industry be available on weekends. Banks and everything else that is unavailable on the weekends should be open as well. They were the major concern for me. Most bank tellers were only open until 3 pm when I worked in retail. How the hell was anyone supposed to do their banking when they worked 9 to 5? Anyway, my two cents. Personally it wouldn't have affected me very much because I own my own business and work every sunday anyway. But I remember what it was like with the threat of being forced to work on the one day that I was guarnteed to spend with my children and family. Don't want to start a debate, but just thought I would throw out my opinion.
