*clears his throat* AHEM, jube you've been absent for the last little while so don't yell at her just yet. She just joined and already has a few posts under her belt...she's becoming active in our sordid little conversations...Good for her!!
as for doing stuff in Halifax, well, it all depends...but I told you to pm me your msn and we can chat there...I don't wanna have to babble on for a millenia talking about all of the amazing things to do in this pretty little city.

There is a ton of stuff to do in here if you're willing to look hard enough. There's are ton of great places to eat, (the ethiopian restaurant on the north side of Quinpool is my favorite). If you're a kid at heart there are plenty of museums, the museum of natural history on summer st.(?) is fun, and free on wednesday evenings. The discovery centre is my favorite place in the world to destress. The art gallery is good for a full day's distraction. Of course there are tons of bars and the waterfront is always great for a late night stroll.
By the by... if you have a cat your entertainment quotient will go up 300% if you buy a leash and harness and take your cat for a walk with you. Guaranteed. ;D

If you are into the out door kind of stuff in the spring/ summer there are plenty of walking trails and canoeing spots. There is always fishing when in season and shopping all year round. Like others have mentioned Halifax is rich with history and there are plenty of historical places to visit. You could also play the tourist role for a while and check out places that the NS tourism board lists for places to see and things to do in the area. There are are always new movies comming out and if it is a popular one no on e will notice that you are there alone or just start talking to the person beside you before the movie... ask them what they have heard about the movie, tell them you are new to town and who knows they might just ask you to go hang out after. People in NS are pretty friendly and if they look at you weird that is okay at least everyone else in the theater will think that you are there with them and their friends. If you are into sports you could look into a drop in team sport or join a community team and kill two birds with one stone (meet new people and filling your time with something). Best of luck!
